Tumor Board

The physicians at Cancer Center of Middle Georgia conduct and participate in Tumor Boards with virtual involvement of specialists from Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University Medical Center (AUMC) in order to discuss complicated cases which need multidisciplinary input for providing high-quality, up-to-date cancer care for our patients.

Tumor Boards are meetings in which a team of physicians from different disciplines collaborate to discuss specific patient cases regarding cancer. These meetings support your physician by providing the most accurate diagnoses and formulating the best, targeted treatment plans.

The physician team members may include, but not limited to:

  • Medical oncologists
  • Radiation oncologists
  • Radiologists
  • Pathologists
  • Surgeons

Not all cases are Reviewed by a Tumor Board. Our physicians select moderate to high complexity cases to present and discuss.

  • Your radiology scans may be presented.
  • Your treatment plan may be shared within conversation in order to discuss next appropriate steps.
  • Your personal information (such as your name) will not be shared.

Our mission is to deliver quality comprehensive hematology and oncology care in the community setting with comfort, compassion and privacy.
